ABOUT
Ok, just the basics…I’m a Navy Veteran and was a police officer for 40 years. I retired in March 2020 from my last position, as a police chief for a small rural city in Northern California. I’ve worked for a very large police department, a medium-small police department, a District Attorney’s Office, a California police agency, and the last, a small police department. I have been a patrol officer, a motorcycle traffic officer, a school resources officer, an investigator, a detective, a police supervisor, a police manager, and a police chief.
I retired the first time in 2007 and then went to work for a small police department as a part-time (not reserve) patrol officer and a detective. I unretired in 2017 to take the position of chief of police.
I also was a forensic psychophysiologist (polygraph examiner) and background investigator as a contractor for more than 30 police and fire agencies, primarily in the hiring process. I have conducted thousands of polygraph examinations and hundreds of background investigations.
But wait, there’s more…I have a BS in Police Management and was also a part-time community college instructor and a part-time high school teacher.
I write, draw, I do pen and ink, and paint. I am an amateur genealogist (not gynecologist), love to read, and like sunsets and long walks on the beach 🙂 . I live in the middle of a forest on a mountain in an undisclosed location in Northern California with my wonderful wife of 42 years, two dogs, a Bearded Dragon, and a pet girl Tarantula named Stella.

Hi Scott! Thanks for the $30.00! It will go along way to promote our mates to expression! I want to write a novel as well! I have some writings to share with you but I will study your website first. Thanks again! Talk to you soon, Don Pickford

Hi Scott, I recently drove to Arcata for a college reunion. I thought of you as I drive North and then while cleaning out the catch-all drawer, I found your card which lead me to this website. I hope you are doing well. I am still working in Apheresis, sewing quilts, making granola whenever my mason jar is empty and starting to dabble in watercolors (always admired your xmas cards). Best wishes, Vicki Osgood
