Snickers ran around the house frantically. She could tell her people would be leaving. She grabbed a toy for comfort and carried it around with her.
Snickers went up to Emily the Jack Russell Terrier. I hate it when the people go away. It is horrible. I just know they will never come back.

Emily grabbed the toy from Snickers and ran off, no doubt to chew the toy’s eyes off.
I know we will be abandoned and starve to death. This is so horrible!
Emily ran by her again with the toy, minus one eye.
What are we gonna do? I just can’t take it. I know she is leaving. What have I done wrong for this to happen?
The people lady was getting on her coat and shoes. She walked to the front door, and Snickers followed. “Now, little girl, you have to wait here.”
We are doomed! What are we gonna do?
The people lady went out the front door and closed it behind her.
I am so sad…so sad. What are we gonna do without the people lady? We can’t get outside; we can’t get food. I have to go pee and will never be able to go outside again before my untimely death from starvation and lack of a people to love.
Snickers squatted near the front door and left a puddle. Later the door opened, and the people lady came in.
She’s back; she’s back! This is the best day of my life! Oh, I can’t believe it. Emily, Emily, she’s back!
“Snickers! I just went out to get the mail. I’ve been gone for less than two minutes, and you pee on the floor?”
