Dogs

I was sitting in an airport waiting for my flight when a woman with a service dog sat next to me.

I asked, “Can I pet your dog?”

“Sure, she’d love that. Thanks for asking me; so many people don’t.”

I gave the Yellow Lab a scratch behind the ears. She seemed to like it and also seemed used to it. “I love my dogs. One of the best things in my life.”

“You have dogs?”

I told her, “Yes, the loves of my life. My wife and I both are so fond of them. I hate to go away on trips and leave them.”

“What kind of dogs do you have?”

“I have two wiener dogs and a Jack Russell Terrier girl.”

“I used to have Dachshunds. Are your’s short hair, long hair, or wire hair?”

“I’m not sure I understand your question.”

“What kind of Dachshunds do you have?”

“Oh, I don’t have Dachshunds. I have two German Shepherds and a Jack Russell Terrier.”

“I thought you said you had two Wiener Dogs.”

“I do. The German Shepherds are boys, and the Jack Russel is a wiener-less dog.”
